Need a little extra money? Here's a way to put the work into saving the environment and reaping the benefits of more than clean air and a bright future.
Something for nothing:
Compost: Instead of emptying your plate into the garbage empty it into a container that you can bring to a compost pile. Compost is mostly just food scraps and a few bits of paper. In a year or so you will have amazing compost that people would happily buy from you!
cost: free research: the correct blend of compost items
Recycling: Metal just lays around the garage, basement or attic. What good does that do when you can cash it in. While you are at it gather all the little scraps around your house including cans to add to your weight.
cost: gas to bring your items to the buyer research: a place in your area that will buy scrap metal
Proper disposal of electronics: People put broken or obsolete electronics in the landfills, out in the streets or keep them stored in the basement etc. even though many of these items are full of lead and mercury and could leak. Who said you couldn't grab them all the times you see them? collect a few and cash them in for cash
cost: gas to bring items to buyer research: find a place that buys old electronics near you
Take a walk and collect bottles and cans: I am not kidding. How many times have you turned your bottles in and walked out with a fair chunk of change? Collect the bottles during a nice summer day and count up how much you made just by taking a nice summer walk. You're cleaning up the neighborhood, not spending any money to occupy your time, you're cleaning the Earth, making sure that those items are being properly disposed of so that they can become new items and of course did I mention you're adding some money to your wallet?
cost: gas you would be using to go to the grocery store any way research: none
